Roundup Mass Tort Leads
Facts About Roundup
Critical Information to Consider
Roundup is one of the most well-known and recognized weed control products among landscapers, farmers, golf course grounds workers, and others in various aspects of the landscape industry. Experts estimate that 1.8 million tons of the material have been used in various applications since it went on the market. The cases against Monsanto have numbered over 100,000. Currently, Beyer is working to reach a settlement agreement for over $10 billion to resolve these cases.
If the massive settlement attempt is not enough to demonstrate that Monsanto and Beyer have known the risks or hazards involved in using their product, there is one more critical piece of the puzzle. Monsanto, as a company, had a deep relationship with the then deputy director of the EPA’s pesticide division. This person was also involved in the Cancer Assessment Review Committee, and allegations were made that the person worked to conceal some of the hazards and reports that Glyphosate could cause cancer. In time, it was discovered that Monsanto was not conducting long-term testing on their product to learn more about the potential health risks it presented. Instead, millions of dollars were invested to cover up the possibility of health risks when using or being exposed to Roundup.
